We've come to know Michael Savage as the gay hating radio host who thinks the gays have taken over the world. A less known detail about him is that his son, Russell Weiner, is the CEO of Rockstar Energy Drinks.

Well Russell recently donated $25,000 to Gavin Newsom's gubernatorial campaign, stirring of a controversy that proved too much for Newsom. The donation has been returned to Weiner, after criticism from activist Aaron Baldwin.

The SF Gate reports, "'When I found out Rockstar was affiliated with Michael Savage, I
thought it was necessary people know,'' Baldwin said, arguing that
public documents show 'it is a privately-held company, the (Savage)
assets are co-mingled with it.'"

I guess Newsom is quick to react, but I bet it hurts to give back that much money!
