I’m a fan, but her voice hasn’t hit me with this one yet. Although, I’m sure repeated viewings of this video and it’s ensemble will fix all that.

I love Duffy and I sorta like this song. My favorite song by her is Rain On Your Parade. Now that’s a great song!

Okay, the song is good, but that damn VOICE! Fingernails on a chalkboard- this could have been a fun track for someone who has some “oomph” to her voice, like maybe Jennifer Hudson, Martha Wash, even a fun change of pace for Annie Lennox. Honestly, when she started singing I thought it was a joke- one more example of looks trumping talent in the music business.

I actually love Duffy, have for years. But this song just doesn’t do it for me.

JEEZUS what is is that horrible squeaking sound coming from her lips. This sounds like Ertha Kit on helium. Terrible.

I totally love her and her music. This video is cute, but the guys are even better. Check on You Tube her performance last night on BBC2.

Finally a decent contender for the Manhunt Top 10. I really dig this song. Duffy is unlike any other of the UK imports. Maybe Amy Winehouse is the only one close on the same style of music.

Cool song. It’s not Rain on your parade or Stepping Stone, but goes along the same lines of Mercy. It’s happy and she always has that Dusty Springfield vibe in her music. Not that I am comparing them both.

All the guys hating on this song must be from the Ke$ha front and fighting back because their princess was trashed in the comments section. I vote for Duffy and just wait for the suggestion I got for you this weekend, Dewitt. Hint: Another blond singer from the UK.

I don’t think she SOUNDS like Miss Dusty, Phil. Duffy’s voice is too often shrill-sounding, whereas Dusty’s had an incredibly expansive range. But I get what you’re talking about that their music (not their singing) has a lot of the same vibe.

She’s got talent and a very unique voice. Not everyone cares for that type of voice but that doesn’t stop people like Dolly Parton, Tom Waits, Joanna Newsom, Christin Chenowith just to name a few successful musicians who have “acquired taste” vocals. However, their fame does not stop their voices from becoming grating after awhile.
