Most of you are going to look at Tannar Veatch‘s work and scratch your head in confusion. We don’t mean this as an insult to your intelligence. Honestly, we’re not sure if we fully understand his entire body of drawings, installations and performance art.
Here’s an excerpt from his artist’s statement: “My approach to studio practice is not simply as a means of production, but rather an occasion to engage in research into aspects of contemporary gender conformities. The process of making work yields an artifact, but more importantly generates a dialog that aims to reconfigure notions of ‘queer’ in art and culture.”
Got it? Good! Now let’s move on to a few pieces he made for the first issue of Headmaster magazine (as previously seen here). Veatch was given a list of titles from plant-themed XTube videos and asked to illustrate them. These are the results. If you dig them, 8.5″ x 8.5″ limited editions prints are now available. Head over here for more details.
