OK so this is not my cup of tea. It probably wasn’t made for someone in my age group. That said, my thought throughout the entire video, with the amount of teen suicides in the headlines lately, if it makes even just one kid think twice about killing themselves, it works for me.

I seen this last week somtime. No I don’t care for it but I don’t knock it either. I dosn’t represent me or my closest gay friend’s,but I when I see this video I see people I’ve meet over the year’s that didn’t judge me when I first came out(“07″).I see people that I party with I see a scene exist and SHOULD BE represented. It ain’t for me but some kid somewhere dosn’t feel alone anymore.

here’s a news•flash: this “community” you-all envisioned actually does envelop more than just the middle- and upper-echelons of the socio•economic bracket.

there are also LGBQT in the inner city, who are probably even more frustrated than you-all are, for they have even fewer opportunities (culturally and logistically) to act upon their nature (without experiencing negative repercussion, at least half of the time).

I’m with Saint Impatience on this, with regard to how this video (and its critics) should be viewed. While its nothing that I would choose to listen to, its obviously not designed for middle-aged, middle class white guys like me. Its aimed at a far younger, far hipper audience, and sends an extremely positive message to gay young people, but most especially minority gay youth whose role models are otherwise practically non-existent.

a more reasonable person (who might be on the fence) would know to take into consideration the broad spectrum of the types who comprise Us; i’d bet you, yourself, are

• White
• not quite liberal
• 38 – 50
• likely a Suburban Dweller

and, most importantly,

• not a person who has much empathy for the Plight of The Urbanite (or/and Persons of Colour).
