Meet James Duke Mason. He’s a college student, actor, LGBT activist, and Belinda Carlisle‘s son! You know who Belinda is, right? Uh, lead singer of the Go-Go’s – pretty much the best 80s band ever? Mason came out to his mom at the age of 14 and has been flying the pride flag ever since.

And hi – cute! Look at this lil’ blonde hottie. We’re not going to go TOO far in rhapsodizing about the Go-Go’s baby’s adorability because, though legal, he’s still pretty young. But he is sure to grow into being a fine young specimen of gayness.

Beyond James’ being attractive, it’s just cool that his mom was one of my all-time favorite 80s rock/pop stars and totally accepting of him. Seriously, the “Head Over Heels” video where she has the short ‘n’ gelled 80s LA girl hair, and the sweatshirt trimmed into a scoopneck and she’s dancing like a total Valley Girl? RAD. THEY HAD SO MANY GOOD SONGS!

The Advocate has a videotaped sitdown between him and his awesome mom, in which they discuss his coming out, Nancy Reagan (his father worked as Ronald Reagan‘s assistant at one point), and how people have mistaken him for his Dad’s younger lover. Err….
