Must Watch: Cute Straight Celebs Telling Straights Gays Are Ok

Thanks? These videos are kind of distracting me from the message because they’re using hot people to spread the word. Thankfully, it’s for heterosexuals who probably won’t notice that Finn from Glee is smokin’. Here’s Cory Monteith in a video for Straight But Not Narrow. Het guys sticking up for gays makes me want to embody that unfortunate stereotype that we’re predatory and will totally go after straight guy ass. Well, some of em’ give in!

It’s unfortunate that we need campaigns like this, but as Nan Flanagan said in the True Blood premiere, there’s “scientific evidence that people are a lot dumber than they realize.”

I think this is a great idea. Whether it works or not, I don’t care. Just the fact that someone, somewhere, for whatever reason thought to make this, made me feel good. :)

  • Maybe we need Nan Flanagan to do one of these videos. (In character I mean. It would be hilarious.)

you spelt “hot” wrong in the 5th sentence…

  • Seaninrr

No he meant “het” as in Heterosexuals lol

I’m not entirely sure that these videos will accomplish anything that they’re setting out to do. It’s a social-action political movement, but my gut instincts tell me that there is no lasting impression, no lasting impact from these seemingly “socially conscious” celebrities.

A for effort, F for impact.

    uhm, Kenneth… het = hetero
    [ie. it was intentional]

I despise the stereotype of predatory gays going after straight guys. Sure, sometimes I have private fantasies about some of my straight friends. But I respect them and respect myself too much to “act on it”. I respect their sexuality just like I would want people to respect mine. It would be very annoying if people try to “convert me” – so I wouldn’t do that to other people either.

spelt is the past tense of spell. you can use spelled too, but both are grammatically accurate.
