Is it really “news” that former Growing Pains star Kirk Cameron hates gays? He’s a hardcore, born again Christian who doesn’t believe in evolution. The man starred in the Left Behind films. It’s not exactly surprising that he believes “homosexuality is unnatural, detrimental and ultimately destructive to foundations of civilization”.

Then again, it’s not exactly surprising that GLAAD‘s upset about an irrelevant ’80s sitcom star coming out against gay marriage. Their Senior Director of Programs told TMZ (of all places) that Cameron’s views are “out of step with a vast majority of Americans, particularly people of faith who believe that their gay and lesbian brothers and sisters should be loved and accepted based on their character and not condemned because of their sexual orientation.”

Well, duh.

I’m sorry for being such a cunt about this, but I think there are bigger enemies to face than Kirk fucking Cameron. His appearance on Piers Morgan Tonight was clearly meant to showcase what an idiot he is, and we should all just ignore it and move on with our lives…

Oh, but I guess I’m ignoring the Secret Sex part of this post! Occasional Manhunt Daily contributor Diego IM’d me earlier this morning with a link to the story above, and our discussion on the topic inevitably devolved into this: “It’d be hot to blow him while he’s ranting about homosexuality being a sin… He should keep his mouth shut and his ass cheeks open.”

That’s a direct quote from Diego. While I can’t say I necessarily agree, it’s not exactly surprising that I’m going to ask all of you—would you blow Kirk Cameron? Would you fuck him up the ass while he read quotes from the Book of Leviticus? Would you do things that were unnatural, detrimental and ultimately destructive to foundations of his rectal area? Discuss!

In my experience, those who are most vocal about homosexuality being “wrong” are fighting their own demons of desire. Yes, I am sure he would absolutely enjoy being handcuffed and gang raped while evoking the name of God.

What I like was how Piers called him on his “shit” and essentially said something to the effect of “Why is it all you conservative Republicans talk about personal liberties, but only when it applies to your own narrow views…and not freedom for others who may differ from you…??? The trouble with this for me is, why do people with bigoted views like his get given the microphone in the first place? What other minority group can you sit there and in all seriousness frankly state that said group is not valid, or ‘unnatural’. It is actually beyond insulting.

Is it a surprise that Kirk Cameron is a bigot? No, not really. Is he in any way attractive inspite of this? I just don’t see it.

There’s one glaring thing that always just gets glossed over by
Christians. God made ONE WOMAN according to the Bible. Adam and Eve had
two sons, Cain and Able, and Cain slew Able in a rage. So where did the
rest of humanity come from? There weren’t any other women other than
Eve, according to the Bible. Did Eve have daughters that weren’t
discussed? So did God condone incest? If there WERE other women (or
neanderthal women that aren’t mentioned in the Bible that evolved
outside of Biblical historical terms), then that blows the Christian
version out of the water. I can’t help but wonder if Kirk’s lack of
acceptance and being judgmental contributed to the depression that led
to the suicide of his closest friend from Growing Pains, Andrew Koenig
who was gay and hung himself in 2010 in Vancouver, son of Walter Koenig,
Chekhov from Star Trek fame. Christian judgmental attitudes are the
basis for the bullying that is rampant and causing gay kids to just call
it quits and take the easy way out rather than sticking it out till
things get better. Kirk has just signed the death warrants of even more
gay kids by increasing the stigma against them and the pressures they
were already feeling. THAT is why we can’t be silent and accept things
as they are.

I remember what an ass he was on the Growing Pains set. He acted like a brat and wouldn’t remove his wedding band even though his character wasn’t married on the show so he ended up wearing a band aid on his finger all the time. He insisted his wife be written into the show as his character’s wife and ruined the career of fan-favorite girlfriend Julie. He wouldn’t speak to the rest of the cast for the longest time afterwards because their views wouldn’t jibe with his.
