“WE” don’t make choices, individuals do — and very often those choices are made under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.    Producing and PROMOTING unsafe sex practices is a murderous disservice to our community, and the world at large.    I don’t give a fuck how much Manhunt supposedly “cares”— DeWitt’s promotion in the name of profit of bareback sex is disgusting and reprehensible, and it demonstrates how easily corporate greed trumps common sense and the good of the gay community.

I believe we all make our own decisions, what we do is our own business, as long as everyone is consenting it doesnt really matter, you take the risk with Bareback or not, if you  dont wanna watch BB porn because you think it puts people at risk dont watch it simple. Dont judge what other people do, just worry about what you are doing.

It becomes a problem because people see it, some will like it and some will prefer it to porn with condoms. Then suddenly there is a premium on performers that do bareback. Would be performers are told they aren’t attractive enough to to porn with condoms, they will have to do bareback to have a shot, regardless of whether this is true or not, eventually it will become so.

Performers are told that it is relatively safe, all performers are tested. But they are not told that people that are newly infected with HIV can pass on the disease before they test positive, when the virus is replicating in their system but before the body has had time to manufacture antibodies, which is what is tested for in most HIV tests. This “window period” of infectious potential lasts for around three month.

When performers inevitably get infected they will eventually test HIV positive. But not before infecting some of their costars, who themselves will go on to infect others. When they do test positive the industry drops them like a piece of used toilet paper.

But willfully putting your head in the sand about or choosing to believe something you wish to be true rather than something that actually is true won’t absolve you of your responsibility in ruining men’s lives, men you are attracted to and see as the paragons of erotic love.

Here’s another question then… If you do accept the risks of catching HIV and unluckily you do, should society have to provide you with health care? In Australia and the UK HIV medication is subsidsidised by the governmental.
