Frida Sundemo: “Indigo”

Ignore the fact that you’ve (probably) never heard of Swedish pop artist Frida Sundemo! Her six-month-old single “Indigo” is, by far, the best thing you’ve (probably) never put in your ears. The music video came out this past Wednesday, and I stumbled upon it earlier this morning, while watching a particularly lackluster clip for the new Jessie J song.

Sundemo’s earlier songs were more akin to the indie-pop style of Lykki Li, but “Indigo” sounds like it was straight-up borrowed from Robyn‘s closet… And I mean that as a compliment! There are enough mindless jams about dancing, empowerment and being young and care-free on the radio. We need more heartfelt passion on this dance floor called “life”.
