Words can not express how excited I am about Game of Thrones‘ second season. As I make my way through the final pages of George R.R. Martin‘s A Clash of Kings (the second book in the series, for all you non-nerds), I’m gearing up to see all of these characters come to life on my television screen.
Perhaps most importantly, I’m anxious to see more of Renly Baratheon. Those of you who watched the first season might remember Renly, as played by deliciously bearded actor Gethin Anthony, from this scene that never ever happened in the books.
Judging from the character featurette you’re about to watch (or not watch), the show will take some liberties and fill in details within the plotline of Renly, Loras and Margaery Tyrell. To translate without providing any major spoilers? This is a good thing. Trust me.

The gay relationship in Season 1 of Game of Thrones added a VERY interesting texture to the show……which was not that evident at all in the book. I have not yet finished the 2nd book, so I am curious to see if the homosexual relationship plays out.
Not as much as I would have with the Knights from “Merlin,” not to mention Arthur himself. I guess if you’re into, um, scents, “Game of Thrones” would be your thing. If you’re in to wit, humor, charm and EXTREMELY attractive men, it’s “Merlin.” Don’t believe me?

Oh, I would have lots and lots and LOTS of sex with Gethin Anthony. The man is delicious. Now, if “Game of Thrones” focused solely on Renly, then I actually might be inclined to watch it.

Love Game of Thrones, I’ve just finished Storm of Swords, keen to power through the next book. TV series is an excellent compliment, and Gethin Anthony makes me all kinds of happy. The relationship that has developed between Loras and Renly is kinda sweet as well. I hope they do his character justice in the second season.
After all the unnecessary boobage, this scene was a nice surprise. Gethin is a very handsome man. I’m hoping they explore that side of him more in the second season.
OK, I broke down and watched the video…I’m even more excited for this new season. I need to find someone with HBO…
