Weekly Top Ten: Gaga & Beyonce Dominate

To no one's surprise, Lady Gaga and Beyonce proudly rest atop today's edition of the Weekly Top Ten. Aside from Sade getting bumped to the number four spot, there really aren't many changes in this week's top five. Hopefully, we'll see a little more drama in the weeks to come, or this will start getting boring very fast.

You know what's even sadder than Sade's fall from the number one spot? Right as Rihanna picks up her fifth number one single with "Rude Boy", she didn't manage to score enough votes to stay on our charts. We had already saved both her song and Shakira, and the remaining options didn't look too hopeful. Lolene, Hole and Kerli didn't receive anywhere near enough votes, and in a surprising move... we're not saving them.

In our Wild Card round, Three Six Mafia and Tiësto gained over forty-percent of your votes. This didn't bode too well for their competitors, so you won't be seeing Sgt. Sass, Slipknot or Hot Chip on the charts any time soon. Sad face!

If you're a Weekly Top Ten virgin, get on your knees while we shove our rules down your throat. Each week you'll be presented with ten songs. You get to vote for up to three that you'd like to see move on to the next week. From those results, we'll take the five tunes with the highest percentages, a song we (usually) save and four other contributions. These selections will make up the following week's charts.

Aural Only: Robyn

I've got some news for you. Robyn is coming to America (again), and she's going to make you forget that bitch Ke$ha ever existed. Also, fembots have feelings too. We're not exactly sure what that means, but it sounds extremely catchy when set to a quirky electro beat on the Swedish pop star's latest single.

Though the young'ns may not remember Robyn's '90s hits "Do You Know (What It Takes)" and "Show Me Love", this bitch has been around in the industry for quite some time. Back in 2004, she split with her record label, started her own and released her absolutely incredible self-titled album.

Robyn was critically acclaimed and spawned a few hits, but it suffered in the US market after taking three years to make it overseas. While her contribution of backup vocals to Britney Spears'Blackout album didn't help push her into the spotlight, she did manage to make a few waves by appearing on a remix of Snoop Dogg's viral video hit "Sexual Eruption".

But let it be known--this will be Robyn's year to shine. Her latest project will be released in three parts, featuring production by Klas Åhlund, Diplo and Röyksopp. I'm nearly jizzing my pants in excitement, and you should be too. This is pop music at it's best.

Exclusive Interview With Tom Goss & Matt Alber

Yesterday, we featured a free download from gay singer-songwriters Tom Goss and Matt Alber. The two artists recently teamed up with one another to record "Who We Are", a song which speaks out against the United States military's Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy.

Manhunt Daily was offered a chance to speak with Goss and Alber, and we jumped on the opportunity with no hesitation. Dogs Dressed As Lady Gaga

Every time a picture of a dog dressed as Lady Gaga is taken, a gay man squeals in delight. This statement is one-hundred percent accurate, given how excited I got when I came across photographer Jesse Freidin's "Doggie Gaga Project". There are no words beyond "awesome" to describe this.

In other Gaga news, Jack from Gay Porn Blog (aka my hero) wrote an exposé revealing that Lady Gaga's "Telephone" video was recorded on the same set as two gay porn flicks. Basically, Beyoncé has sat on the same diner bench that Jason Crew's balls have rested on. And you may now proceed to laugh at this fun fact.

To sum it all up, Lady Gaga is a transphobic bad girl who's "poison for the mind of our kids". Now that we've gotten that out of the way, let's look at a French Bulldog in one of her funny hats!

Aural Only: Sun Ho

Singaporean pop star Sun Ho's "Fancy Free" has been making its way up Billboard's Dance/Club Play charts since debuting in September, and she may hit number one as soon as next week. This wouldn't be the first time she's accomplished such a feat. Though you may not have heard about her until now, Sun actually holds the title of the first Asian artist to top Billboard's dance charts.

The release date for her upcoming album Cause A Ruckus remains a mystery, with most sources stating that it was due for "late 2009". You can hear a few snippets from the project on her website. They've got a little bit of a Gwen Stefani flavor, with a dash of Britney thanks to producers Danja, Rodney Jerkins and Rob Knox.

And before you whip out the inevitable "OMG, she's biting off of Lady Gaga" comments, let it be known that she's aware of the comparisons. “It’s pretty typical to compare someone to a person who is now at the focal point of attention in pop culture," Sun said in an interview. “I love Gaga and how she remains true to herself and her artistry, so comparing me with her is a compliment.”

Though she doesn't believe that director Joseph Kahn intended to move in the direction of a Gaga rip-off, he coincidentally filmed the videos for "LoveGame" and "Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)" within the same year. Make of that what you will...

Would You Hit That?: Tim Urban

I have a friend who can't stop babbling about American Idol contestant Tim Urban. Maybe it's because I haven't been watching this season, but is this guy really that hot? Let's make one thing clear--I'm not saying that I wouldn't do him. If he could take it, I'd plow his little twink ass every night of the week. But I'm not about to jump through hoops to get him on my dick.

Is anyone else as obsessed with this guy as my friend? Because I'm legitimately confused about what makes him so swoon-worthy. Based on looks alone, I'd rather hop in bed with Lee Dewyze. There's a chance I'm alone in this, but I'm willing to take that risk.

UPDATE: This post has now been enhanced with shirtless pictures. Okay, I get it now. I'm changing my vote from "maybe" to a definite "yes".

Album Review: Battle of The Sexes by Ludacris

What's topping this week's Billboard 200 this week? According to projections, the latest album from rapper Ludacris is slated to steal the number one spot from country superstars Lady Antebellum. This begs the question--is his latest effort Battle of the Sexes any good?

Kind of. Battle of the Sexes was originally intended to be a collaboration album with Luda's protege Shawnna, but it was altered when she opted to leave his label for T-Pain's Nappy Boy Entertainment. As a result, there's a last-minute, scattered element to the whole tracklist, but Ludacris manages to keep it all together with his trademark delivery and humorous lyrics.

Although there's a fair share of filler within the set, singles "How Low" and "My Chick Bad" should be enough to convince you to pick up this album. But if you're not satisfied by those alone, be sure to check out Luda's softer side as he flows with Ne-Yo and Monica on "Tell Me A Secret" and "Can't Live With You".

Truthfully, Battle of the Sexes is far from groundbreaking, but it delivers everything you'd ever want from a Ludacris album. He's stopped trying to be serious and returned to what he does best--raunchy sex raps and party jams that make your ass shake. While you can say we already have enough of those on the radio these days, nobody does them as clever as 'Cris.

Aural Only: Mika

The latest single from Mika finds the bisexual singer-songwriter teaming up with producer RedOne, who is known primarily for crafting the majority of Lady Gaga's biggest hits. While the beat may not stand out from any other song on the radio, "Kick Ass" is saved by its epic chorus.

My one gripe with this song? It'd be so much better if it hadn't been recorded for the soundtrack of superhero movie Kick Ass. Though it seems pretty fitting given what I know about the film, I think it'd pack more power outside of that context. Oh well! No matter what the case may be, I hope Mika has a hit on his hands.
