An Open Letter To Brad Pitt’s Mom

Dear Jane,

I am HIGHLY disappointed  in you. I recently read the letter you sent to your local newspaper. In it, you expressed your anti-gay viewpoint. The document in question:

I have given much thought to Richard Stoecker’s letter (“Vote for Mormon against beliefs,” June 15). I am also a Christian and differ with the Mormon religion.

But I think any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon.

Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama — a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.

I hope all Christians give their vote prayerful consideration because voting is a sacred privilege and a serious responsibility.

All the other gay blogs are making jokes about how holiday dinners are going to be all tense since your son Brad Pitt is so pro-gay that he probably sucks off Clooney from time to time out of solidarity. I refuse to stoop to that level. Instead, I will point out that you are entitled to have your opinions because that’s our country. However, I think it was fairly declasse to expose yourself as a bigot in a public forum. Especially when you’re the mother to American’s Male Sweetheart. When I attempted to reason why you would embarrass your son in this fashion, I could only come to two conclusions – you’re an idiot or you hate the mother of your grandchildren. I’m talking about the vampiric one who adopted more grandchildren you could ever handle, uses her leg as an accessory at red carpet events, and is pretty much a vampire. Being faced with her at least once a year, with her blood red lips, black as midnight flowy dresses, and towing her child army of uncomfortably (for you) ethnic children – it must get your provincial self all uncomfortable and angry. Hence you’re lashing out in the press. This wasn’t a slap in the face to gays, this was a slap in the face to Ms. Jolie.

You look like a nice lady. I can’t forgive you, but I can understand why you acted that way.

Sincerely,

J. Harvey

p.s. That part in Interview With The Vampire where the chemistry between your son and Antonio Banderas was so palpable that you could smell the pre-cum must have gotten your assuredly cotton panties in a bunch.

  1. So, let me get this ‘straight.’  We want the world to tolerate us and accept our values, beliefs and actions as equal.  But, we should not afford others the same?  Others need not share our beliefs to accept every one as equal and no one should be shunned because of what they hold dear in their heart.  I believe she is wrong, but she’s entitled to her opinion.  Publishing this article only serves to give her the platform she sought to spread her views.  Hate is hate! It works both ways.  Don’t cry “Hate” while hating!

  2. It’s not intolerance to call out intolerance. It’s not hate to point out people hating. That’s false equivocation, and if you think this post is being hateful (rather than just occasionally tart or classless, which, lets face it, this is Manhunt…) you need to take a few philosophy courses…

  3. well said, besides who gives a shit about what she has to say, the only thing she ever did was give birth to Brad Pitt.

  4. look at the photo. could Jolie get any further away from this women, and still be in the picture.  love to be a fly on the wall in the Pitt/Jolie bedroom for that conversation, and other reasons too.  ;-0

  5. I have a definite feeling Mrs. Pitt won’t be living in the style that she has become accustomed to for much longer.
Yes she can have her opinion but surely she knows Brad’s and Angelina’s views on the subject.
She didn’t bite the hand that feeds her…she took it off at the elbow.

  6. She’s entitled to her open, no matter how closed minded it is. Thankfully her son is living proof that children can escape their parents views. His mother loved Jennifer Aniston. He dumps her for Angelina Jolie. She hates gay people. So she better watch out or Brad’s next movie will.be him going full on Brokeback Mountain.

  7. While I agree with your point in questioning Mrs. Pitt’s opinion’s, I can’t help but think that your ill-considered swipe at Angelina Jolie went so off-topic  as to render the rest of your post impotent.  Hate begets hate, and your post did nothing to distance yourself from that guttersniping rut.

  8. I fear for the country.  I wouldn’t be surprised if there will be a second Revolutionary War or a second Civil War in my lifetime. I think it’s time to move across the Atlantic. Sorry to sound like nerd but ‘1984’ and ‘The Hunger Games’ don’t really seem that impossible anymore.

  9. It really makes me shudder when folks use President Obama’s middle name. I can’t explain it but it’s become a none to subtle jab  meant to stir up something very ignorant.

  10. J.Harvey Hun  it wasn’t Brad Pitt in Interview with a Vampire it was Val Kilmar. but I’m sure we all got what you meant ,not sure She did .

  11. I agree with Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens: religion must be stamped out in all its forms. Truly one of the worst ideas the human race has ever had.
