This is sad, and very unexpected. The news broke last night that the delicately beautiful and very talented Sahara Davenport has died. There aren’t any details as to the cause, but many of her Drag Race friends and RuPaul himself Tweeted about Davenport’s passing.
Sahara was 28, a native of Dallas, Texas, and a fixture on the NYC drag scene. He was also well-known as Drag Race Season Three runner-up Manila Luzon’s boyfriend. On his Facebook page last night, Manila merely statused “I love him so much.” Heart-breaking.
Besides her flawless drag game, Davenport (tn Antonie Ashley) produced two well-received dance singles, and was an amazing dancer. She showed off her skills whenever she had to “lip synch for your life” on the second season of Drag Race. Remember those leaps she would do? Dayum.
Rest in peace, Sahara. You will be missed.

Awwwwwww, this news completely destroys me. Sahara seemed like such a nice person. Poor Manila.
