You’ve got your analysis of Venn diagrams wrong. While the Intersection of Handsome, Nice, and Smart is gay, that does not mean that is the entire Universe of gay.
It’s saying this:
All Handsome, Nice, Smart guys are gay.
Not:
All gay guys are handsome, nice, and smart.
Although usually it’s “gay or taken”
