We are absolutely loving the “gods of football rolling on a river” theme of this year’s calendar because hot bodies look even hotter when they’re drippingly wet. Athletes are always better when they’re photographed arm wrestling in the nude with each other on a pirate ship. So you go on and drive that gondola bareass with your pole, football gods. It doesn’t appear so much that a focal effect was used, as very artful contrast manipulation – the shots here all appear to be HDR (numbers 1, 2, and 5 after the jump are good examples), but it looks like the contrast values were tweaked after the images were taken to make the subjects “pop” (especially evident in the fourth picture after the jump, as well as the third and very first).
