The Naha Harbor Diner in Okinawa, Japan sits atop a life-size replica of a banyan tree. It’s a quiet and romantic restaurant. And the best? It’s not expensive! A group of 5 people eat for around US$70. You enter the restaurant through the trunk and climb a spiral staircase or go up an elevator.
The diner serves organic food harvested fresh from farms. The tree is not real but made of concrete so don't worry, you're safe. This is definitely reminiscent of one of my favorite childhood cartoons, The Swiss Family Robinson, they lived in a tree!
