The thirst for Gorgeous Jarrell Gucci — no, that’s his actual name in ballroom — was real on HBO Max‘s Legendary season one. It was real and mostly universal; show judges like Megan Thee Stallion and Leiomy Maldonado became visibly bothered on stage when he emerged at the back of the runway muscles glistening, or with a fake beard.
And while this is nothing new for the performer, given he’s been a living and breathing thirst trap within ballroom for years at this point, the new visibility has provided the star with some new opportunities.
“I am humbled [and] honored to announce that I have been officially signed by [Next Models] as they have placed me on their men’s and talent boards,” Gucci wrote to Instagram this month. “I am elated and overcome [with] gratitude and optimism that I will not only meet but exceed their expectations! I’ve been working extremely hard on various projects to kickstart this year and hit the ground running!!”
And that he has. In December, Gucci unveiled his first calendar. Photographed by Derrick LeJermon, Clayton Singleton, and Vincent Marc, the project comprises “12 months of artistic, creative, and sexual visuals” where Gucci’s body is on display. In behind the scenes footage the voguer, appears straddling a motorcycle, as well as decked out with angel wings. The calendar is still available to purchase. Pre-orders close at midnight.
“I have my first single coming out shortly after” Gucci wrote to Instagram. “This is the takeover of actor/singer/model Jarrell ‘Gorgeous Gucci’ Hargraves.”
Season two of HBO Max’s Legendary is expected out later this year.
