Vote For The Weekly Top Ten Wild Card

Kid Cudi, MGMT, Ratatat, Dizzee Rascal, Yeasayer, Raphael Saadiq, music, gay, charts, voting, wild card, weekly top ten

This past weekend, I made the mistake of only allowing you one vote for the Weekly Top Ten. I'm still a little ashamed about that, so let's make a deal. Whichever song takes the sixth place spot will gain an automatic place on the charts and immunity from the "saved" title. How's that sound?

Also, in an effort to inject the charts with a little more testosterone, this week's Wild Card selections come from a handful of male artists. At least two of them are even based on your suggestions. So without further ado, this week's round includes some new sounds by Kid Cudi, Raphael Saadiq, Dizzee Rascal and Yeasayer. You only have one day to vote for the song that'll creep its way onto the charts, so what are you waiting for? Get on it!

Kid Cudi f/ MGMT & Ratatat – Pursuit of Happiness: After seeing Kid Cudi open for Lady Gaga, a close friend of mine has been begging to get this on the Weekly Top Ten. I figured I'd give into his begging as soon as he got on his knees! I've always wanted to hate this song for its drunk driving reference, but I keep getting drawn in by the awesome beat by indie darlings MGMT and Ratatat. Plus, the off-key chorus is constantly in my head.

Raphael Saadiq – Staying In Love: It's a shame that a majority of the general public hasn't embraced Saadiq's outstanding 2008 album The Way I See It. After over a year of promoting this project, he's finally released a video for one of the standout tracks "Staying In Love". It's a delicious slice of retro R&B that'll be in your head for weeks.

Dizzee Rascal – Dirtee Cash: With a sample from The Adventures of Stevie V's "Dirty Cash (Money Talks)", this song sounds like it came right out of the early nineties. Nostalgic for the days of La Bouche and CeCe Peniston? This just might be the solution.

Yeasayer – Ambling Alp: A bit of a departure from our usual selections, indie band Yeasayer's latest single "Ambling Alp" has been making waves in the blogosphere. We received a suggestion for this on our Weekly Top Ten, and we figured we'd give it a chance!
