Though we hate to admit it, we were starting to become bored with Kelly Rowland‘s dance music schtick. There’s no denying that the former Destiny’s Child member sounds great with her big diva vocals laid on top of a throbbing club track. However, she seems to have hit a wall with this style. None of these random DJ collaborations came close to matching the energy of her summer 2009 gay club smash “When Love Takes Over”.
Having said that, you can probably guess that we’re excited about her latest single “Motivation”. This is easily Ms. Kelly’s best (and sexiest) R&B track since 2002’s “Dilemma”, and it helps that the music video is full of impossibly attractive male dancers. What do you think? Will this be the song that finally gets her long-delayed third album on shelves?

Can’t stand Lil Wayne, but the rest is great. REALLY love the track with Gaudino and hope its massive. Wouldn’t mind hearing this mixed as well.
Really, really boring song, and the set looks like something I remember from an 80’s Falcon porn video. Awesome-looking black guys, for sure, except for L’il Wayne, who is as disgusting and untalented as ever. How did that guy become a multimillionaire rap star? He sucks.
These are two of my favorite artists but something falls flat.
Oxymoron: L’il Wayne/Artist…or maybe just “moron.”
maybe i just get more ghetto by the day but i love this.
Love this song…not a huge fan of Lil’ Wayne but like track…can’t wait for her album to come out…
I have to agree that this is a really boring song. If you’re in the mood for high energy dance/pop music this definitely falls flat. If you’re feeling more low key then this would be a perfectly great performance by the luminous Ms. Rowland …
… but then Lil’ Wayne shows up out of nowhere and ruins everything.
“Commander” is undoubtedly her best song.
Great video, the song just fine. Lil’ Wayne has to go. When are these singers gonna understand you don’t need a rapper to make a track work. Yes, that goes for you Kanye West. Kelly’s music belongs in the clubs.
not a fan
I wouldn’t mind having sex to this song
It reminds me of Madonna’s “Revolver” with Lil Wayne. The original was less than spectacular, but the remix (after Wayne was editted out) was great. I bet there will be a remix out in a month that ups the tempo and hits #1.
i like this song.
