Keep Things Discreet & Safe With MyShadowPhone

There are a million reasons why you might not want to give out your phone number to a potential hook-up. Some people don’t understand the concept of boundaries! You don’t want them calling you at all hours of the day, trying to hop on your dick. Also, what about those people who just can’t take a hint that you don’t want to meet again? Wouldn’t you love a fast and easy way to cut them out of your life?

Enter MyShadowPhone. The service provides you with an alternative phone number, allowing for complete privacy and control over your voice communications. Set up a schedule for when calls are forwarded to you! Block callers with the click of a button! Have recording of your calls sent to your e-mail address! Pretty cool stuff.

Look, I realize this sounds (and looks) like a blatant advertisement! The funny thing is? It’s not! A coworker sent over the link earlier today, and I couldn’t help but think that these services would be beneficial for some Manhunt Daily readers. Make of it what you will… But, uh, it couldn’t hurt to try the free 14-day trial, eh?

  1. Nothing worse than dealing with crazies. Went out with a guy and it was one of my top 3 worst dates. Afterwards I let him down easy “You’re a nice guy, but I don’t see this going anywhere…. yada yada.” The next day I got 4 txts from him throughout the day: sup?, what are you doing?, wanna  catch happy hour?, how was your day?. I got random calls and voice mails from him every other day. Eventually he stopped but then every now and then I get a random call. My phone company only lets you block a few numbers, but I guess he had more than one phone. It would have been nice to have this around. (Mattman83)

  2. Hmm. Not so sure about this. Feeling like it will only perpetuate the toxic closet cases, the poseurs, the liars, and the outright scammers. If I wanted that, I’d still be on craigslist.

  3. You can do almost everything this does with Google Voice. And Google Voice is free.

  4. I was going to say the exact same thing. I didn’t look at all the differences, but I’ve definitely used Google Voice before not quite for the same reasons and it works rather well. Everything goes to your own phone and I’ve never had a problem with it.

  5. Totally could’ve used that a few months ago. A guy I met wouldn’t stop texting about wanting to bb with me, even though I was clean and he said he was. (Still HIV-) Thankfully he stopped when he said he found a 19yr old who bb with him.   JCRK88

  6. well, whether it’s “google voice” or “my shadow phone,” i can certainly appreciate the application of The Anonymous Phone Number.

i really don’t want to take the risk of placing any of my contact info in the hands of a stranger, first thing we hit each other up.

i hate when someone forces me to give up the digits, too — at (alleged) penalty of not having any further correspondence.

  7. This is great! I am definitely going to check out Google Voice. My phone is used for work and I would rather not have hook ups calling or texting my primary phone, especially those clingers you just can’t get rid of. Physfun
