A bunch of bloggers I love and respect kept telling me to listen to Brooklyn duo Tanlines, and I was all like, “No! I’m a unique butterfly, and you can’t shove these two dudes down my throat!” It’s not as if they were downright awful or anything. It’s just that, well, the promotional singles “Brothers” and “All of Me” were okay for me, yet they never quite gave me that utterly undeniable, earth-shattering ear-gasmic feeling.
So, in my effort to confirm my suspicions that Tanlines are over-hyped, I decided to stream the band’s full album Mixed Emotions on NPR‘s First Listen. My conclusion? I really should have let those bloggers shove them down my throat, forcefully. This album is fan-fucking-tastic. An epic explosion of powerful rock-pop songs that make you want to dance, laugh, cry and practice your Kegel exercises!
Listen to this. Really!

I would love to have the shorter one shoved down my throat forcefully.
Cool tunes, too.
I really should practice my kegels more :/
Not exactly into this either, though.
Oh, this was about music. Totally thought it was about tan lines from the sun or a tanning bed. LOL! JCRK88
Awesome
THIS ONE IS NOT ABOUT SEX, HELLO? iM GONNA BUY THIS CD AWESOME MUSIC, NO NIKI MINAJ, NO BRITTANY, NO RHIANNA HERE, ITS ALL GOOD
I truly wish I was in the mental health field, I could have a show on E or Bravo with just the people that post on here, I would probably call it Dysfunctional manhunt posters, with Dr. Mike, believe me it would blow Jersey Shore out of the water
I just hope that these innane posts are from people that are drunk or high, in any case they should contact Dr Drew
That is tantamount to listening to Whitney Houston sing and then say Id love to fuck Bobby Brown, not pc
Rarely is SUCKING on a gay blog a negative thing but this SHIT SUCKS !!! BLACKjackHAMMER
Hmm. In case you did not notice, I did comment on the music. For your information, I immediately went to iTunes and pre-ordered the album. In the first sentence, I merely referenced Dewitt’s comment in the post above, though I admit that mine was more explicitly about sex. After all, I can both like the music *and* think the musician is hot. What the hell does political correctness have to do with anything in this post? I was neither drunk nor high when I wrote my comment, but I can assure you that I neither randomly capitalize words like “dysfunctional” nor neglect to capitalize all words in a title, if that was your intent below. I also do not misspell common words like “inane”. I hope you will enjoy interviewing yourself on your inane imaginary talk show. You are clearly intelligent enough to appeal to Dr. Phil’s sophisticated listeners.
Now, pleas, go fuck yourself. Have a pleasant evening.
