Whoever thought that taking all the suitcases you
have laying around collecting dust, and turning them into a closet, would be a good idea? Well
designer Maarten de Ceulaer did with his “A Pile of Suitcases” piece. He’s a recent
2008 graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands
attention from this collection, which is featured in this
month's Dominno magazine.
When asked about
how he came up with this concept here is what Ceulaer had to say, “I try to base my
designs on a strong, simple and pure concept, to question what I see around me,
and translate that in an object. I think poetry, humor and communication of
ideas are very important aspects of my designs, but at the same time I want to
make useful and functional objects with that way of thinking."
I really love how great and effortless this collection looks. To learn more about his collection or check out his portfolio click here
