Sunshine Anderson can best be described as a one-hit wonder, known primarily for her 2001 R&B single “Heard It All Before”. A few years after her debut, the singer signed a deal with Matthew Knowles‘ record label Music World Entertainment, releasing her criminally overlooked sophomore release Sunshine At Midnight.
And now she’s back again with her third album The Sun Shines Again. This time around, she’s broken away from the evil grasps of Daddy Knowles and reunited with her original producer Mike City. The eleven resulting tracks take on an extremely personal, confessional approach, perfect for fans of Jill Scott, Jazmine Sullivan and Mary J. Blige.
Lead single “Lie To Kick It” could very well be a Manhunt anthem, except for the fact that the chorus has nothing to do with penis size. The album’s fifth song “Life Back”–an upbeat number co-written by Anderson herself–will certainly speak to anyone who’s overcome the aftermath of a bad relationship.
Other standout tracks include the piano-based ballad “A Warning For The Heart” and the incredibly soulful “Nervous”. While this may not be an album for everyone, it’ll definitely appeal to fans of traditional R&B and Anderson’s previous work. Give it a try! You might wind up liking it…

Damn where has she been?
NC Native! I love Sunshine Anderson. In her “Heard It All Before” I knew most of the people in it. NC stand up. I absolutely love singers like Sunshine. They actually have talent and sing about real things and don’t try to be mainstream.

I like it. More, please.
So glad people are breaking away from Mathew and Music World.
The only thing he was good for was promoting Beyonce, and running everyone else’s career on his roster into the ground.
