Album Review: The New Pornographers

If you're familiar with The New Pornographers, you know exactly what you're getting into with their new album Together. The Canadian power-pop band has a reputation for giving their fans exactly what they want, along with a few surprises along the way. And their latest project is certainly no exception.

As usual, the band's leading members all have their moments to shine. You get your dose of Neko Case ("Sweet Talk, Sweet Talk", "My Shepherd", "Crash Years"), a dash of Dan Bejar ("Silver Jenny Dollar", "If You Can't See My Mirrors", "Daughters of Sorrow") and a heaping handful of A.C. Newman ("Moves", "A Bite Out Of My Bed").

Throw in cameos from Annie Clark of St. Vincent, Zach Condon of Beirut and Will Sheff of Okkervil River, and you've got yourself one hell of an indie album. If you're not already a fan of this super group, now might be a good time to start!
