Amanda Mair: “House”

If I were the type of person who had the patience (or memory) to make a “Best Music of 2012” list, Amanda Mair‘s self-titled debut would be among my top ten favorite albums. I realize that’s rather presumptuous to say when the year’s not even half over, but it’s so good that I’m willing to risk my (non-existent) musical integrity and go out on a limb with this claim.

Mair sings with an innocence and sincerity that most young artists couldn’t dream of achieving. While she’s far from the most powerful singer you’ve ever heard, she maintains a powerful presence on each of the album’s ten tracks, commanding a wide range of tender ballads and bouncy indie-pop productions.

“House” was one of the first songs I heard by Mair. It’s not necessarily my go-to track of choice—that honor would go to “Before”—but it’s a nice introduction to the up-and-coming artist’s sound. Check out the music video after the jump, and head over here for a free download if it’s your cup of tea.

  1. how is this related to anything manhunt? whining girl on the beach music..

  2. The music sections are my favorite part of manhuntdaily.     I love her voice, but I do agree that her other song “Before” is much more approachable.

  3. I’m so happy to see Amanda Mair getting love here. I pre-ordered it from iTunes Sweden (without a Swedish credit card or bank account and address, it was a not easy, to say the least) because I was so enamored with her first three singles – my FAVE being Doubt. Everybody support this great act!
