You know, last I checked Dan Broughton is still your new gay porn crush. Is it any wonder? Aside from his penchant for introducing straight guys to the joys of gay sex, he’s a versatile performer with the face of a heartthrob.
Dan was definitely a challenge to nail down — no pun intended! — but I was glad he took time out to talk with me about how how he got into the industry, his dream scene partners and which studio will always have a special in his heart.

Hey there Dan! How’s it going?
Hey kidda, it’s going pretty damn good. Busy, so I can’t complain, though to be honest I could do with a holiday. I’ve been meaning to take a short break for ages, but something always comes up, and taking time off just gets put on hold.
You got your big public break as the winner of Mr. Gay UK in 2007. Tell me about the competition.
At the time, I was 21 years old, lived on my own and held down two jobs. In the day, I was an HR Manager for an advertising company, and by night ,I was the stage assistant manager at Funny Girls in Blackpool and worked long hours — 7 days a week.
Cutting a long story short, I entered and won Mr. Gay UK, which involved 12 months of promoting, TV appearances, radio interviews, gay pride events, and most importantly for me was the networking.
People know you from your work with European-based studios like English Lads, Blake Mason and UK Naked Men. Which has been your favorite studio to work with?
Each studio can be completely different, and I have something I like individually about each one. Studios that I love working with and really stand out are probably Men At Play and English Lads.
I love how Men At Play films, their attention to detail, and most importantly, I know that the final product is second to none.
English Lads will always have a special place in my heart — I was exclusive for 3 or 4 years and got the opportunity to work with REAL fit straight lads that needed the money.
Have you thought about coming to the States and trying your hand with some studios here?
I have recently been working with two studios in the States for the first time. I don’t know if I’m able to say which ones yet, but what I can tell you is that I have fantasies too, just like everyone else, that have been turned into a reality.
I love working with Americans and you can see that most of them really get turned on working with a Brit.
There are some studios I’d like to still work with in the States, however, nowadays I’m more picking the models to work with rather the studio.
Speaking of which, tell me what it’s like working with Paddy O’Brian. You were the first guy he’s fucked on camera, and now he’s getting gangbanged over at MEN.COM.
Paddy and I go way back, and we’ve done so much stuff together from scenes and PR events to personal socialising. Paddy is a fantasy for so many people, but to me, he’s a mate. Even to this day, he looks out for me.
Working with Paddy is always a laugh a minute. He’s such a big character, and we always have fun. Every scene we have ever done together has always had a story behind it, and I’m not talking about a scripted story.
You’ve worked with a lot of hot guys — Landon Conrad, Tyson Tyler, Gabriel Clark — out of all of your scene partners, who’s been your favorite? And is there anyone in particular you’d like to shoot with in the future?
Bloody hell, there’s been so many great guys, but as far as my favourite scene partner goes, it has to be Paul Wagner without a shadow of a doubt. He is so amazingly my type of guy. I just love his build, his accent, how manly he is, how nice he was, easy to work with, and other little traits he had. PERFECT.
Some people I’d like to maybe work with would be Tyler Torro, Marcus Mojo, and Cliff Jensen.
You’re the host of Triple X Games, a gay adult game show. How did you get started with them, and what’s it like working with the cast and crew?
Well right before the first shoot was to begin, a 24-year-old newcomer from Italy decided to leave the games as he was suddenly afraid of harming his family’s reputation. His father had apparently put a lot of pressure on him.
We were under extreme time constraints, and we brainstormed possible solutions, only to arrive at the realisation that any compromise to our planned shooting schedule would have caused the entire concept to unravel. Rather than modify and possibly spoil the original concept, we elected to use the fantastic resources at hand – a great location, extensive crew, plenty of equipment and hot models – to film some great standard-format porn scenes, along with an extensive ‘making of’ documentary.
