An Interview With Kayden Gray: Porn, Music & Crushing On Bel Ami Boys

There’s a pretty good chance that you’ve jerked off to at least one of Kayden Gray’s scenes over the past year. Remember his scene with Ben Grey for Hard Brit Lads? Or his priest play scene with James Dixon for Bulldog Pit? 2014 has definitely been Kayden’s year, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a more versatile performer in the industry right now. He definitely gets around!

I had the immense pleasure of chatting with Kayden this week right before he jetted off to his next scene. Learn more about his life outside of porn, his former singing career and the porn scene of his dreams.

Kayden! Thanks for talking with us! How are things going over in London?

It’s a pleasure, guys! Things are great, thank you. Summertime is proving to be a very busy time for me like last year. I’m trying to enjoy every hot summer day like it’s the last one. (All too likely, knowing crazy British weather!)

Now you’re somewhat of a newcomer in the adult industry. What made you decide to do porn?

Correct, I started in March 2013, which would still have me in the newcomer category. I think the reason behind it, as trivial as it may sound, was simply some sort of a personal quest for acceptance and validation — at least initially. It wasn’t until a little later that I discovered the potential I had for a career in this exciting industry.

And you’re a bit of an exhibitionist! I’ve seen your Vine and XTube videos. Were you always into showing off?

Haha — guilty as charged! I guess that’s an easy conclusion to make when you come across my social media. But I really haven’t always been this way. There were times when I was so shy I couldn’t bring myself to ask a stranger for the time. You could say that confidence, in my case, has been the result of a long journey rather than something I could ever take for granted. And it turns out being an adult performer really works for me. It’s definitely one of the most liberating decisions I’ve made in my life.

I heard that when you were younger, you wanted to be a singer. Looks like you’ve traded in one band of boys for another, right?

I did, yes. In fact, I spent quite a few years pursuing a career in singing, songwriting and music production under the name Voytek until 2010, when my debut EP Lollipop was released. I quit recording music shortly after.

The opportunity to shoot adult movies came a few years later, and although the element of performance makes the comparison of the two kind of obvious, music and porn have played entirely different roles in my life. It’s also possible that Lollipop isn’t the last you’ll be hearing from me yet.

You’ve racked up over 30 scenes so far and worked with stars like Damien Crosse, JP Dubois and Woody Fox. Of all your scenes, which has been your favorite (and why)?

I’ve shot close to 50 scenes now and have been lucky to work with some big names. JP Dubois is certainly one I’ve come across quite a few times, and I absolutely love working with him and Sam — his partner in crime.

As for my favourite scene, it would no doubt be the one I shot for LucioSaints.com with the beautiful young man Allen King. We’ve always been extremely attracted to each other and had fantasised about being paired for a scene way before we met. When it finally happened, the chemistry was explosive! We’ve been friends ever since.

Let’s say you have the opportunity to film your fantasy scene. Who would it be with, and what would the scene look like?

I have a few fantasies, top of which would be a gang bang with some of the Bel Ami and Cocky Boys together. My passion for jocks, sports gear and group sex would have us in a locker room, post football training, sweaty, covered in grass and mud and  — needless to say — horny.

Although to be honest, I’d die happy if I just got to shoot a duo with Jim Kerouac, my favourite of the Bel Ami boys.

What’s Kayden Gray like when the cameras are off? Anything your fans would be surprised to know about you?

When the cameras go off, I’m exactly the same person you see in films, only I don’t spend ALL of my time with a raging hard-on and a dick in my mouth. In my day-to-day life, I eat up to 6 meals a day, gym regularly and moisturise religiously. I love ambient music and strong coffee. It may be surprising to know I’m also a clean freak who collects films by David Attenborough.

I’m sure the guys out there want to know — are you single? (If so, what kind of guys do you like?)

I am single. And like most of us, I like beautiful athletic men, not always (!) but often of a different ethnic origin. That said though, none of those attributes guarantee good chemistry or happiness, so I have learnt not to be too specific.
