It’s always fun when America’s Next Top Model pretends it has anything to do with real fashion. On last night’s episode, the eight remaining contestants posed as famous designers in a shoot with photographer Francesco Carrozzini. Honestly? It was embarrassing for everyone involved. Let’s just say that imitation isn’t the sincerest form of flattery…
More importantly, one of the girls successfully broke Ann‘s record-breaking winning streak, as the competition’s golden child fell into third place. So who was the lucky lady who took the best picture? And which utterly stunning contestant was sent packing? You’ll have to click through to find out!

To see the pictures and read more about last night’s episode, follow the JUMP:
1. LIZ as JOHN GALLIANO (LW – 7): It’s difficult to accurately judge this picture, because one must separate themselves from Liz’s personality. Oddly enough, she didn’t even have any idea who John Galliano was, yet she managed to portray him to an acceptable level. But isn’t it hypocritical of the panel to choose her for best picture, after bitching out other girls for not doing their research? Just sayin’.
2. KAYLA as VIVIENNE WESTWOOD (LW – 8): Um, hello, winner of this competition. Even when Kayla was thrown into the bottom two, she still had taken a decent picture. My theories for predicting the winner are based on each contestant’s individual portfolio, as well as the producers’ edit of their personality. Kayla has been excelling in both respects, and the images above is further proof of that.
3. ANN as ALEXANDER WANG (LW – 1): The queen has been dethroned! Of course, the judges had nothing but nice things to say about Ann’s performance, so it’s not like she’ll be going home on next week’s episode. We’d love to think that she had a chance of winning this competition, but that brief moment of height discrimination (during the Grammy challenge) would indicate otherwise. Who ever knew that a model could be too tall?
4. CHELSEY as CAROLINA HERRERA (LW – 6): Without a doubt, Andre Leon Talley was on a roll this week. My favorite moment of the judging was when he not-so-subtly dissed the stylist for this shoot, stating that Carolina Herrera would never wear that skirt. On an unrelated note, Chelsey is going to be pissed that Ann beat her again. I’m waiting for her to blow up and have a full-on Carrie moment.
5. CHRIS as BETSEY JOHNSON (LW – 5): And so begins the countdown towards the inevitable elimination of Chris. The judges were on the fence with this one, as Andre Leon Talley argued it was more comedian than model. Will people call Tyra Banks racist if she’s sent home next week? Because that’d be three black girls in a row…
6. JANE as MARC JACOBS (LW – 2): This is dreadful in so many ways. One could even refer to it as pure “dreckitude”. Frankly, this is some of the worst drag we’ve ever seen, and it doesn’t help that Jane doesn’t know how to pose like a man. To add insult to injury, the other model is totally upstaging her. How was she not placed in the bottom two?
7. ESTHER as CHRISTOPHE DECARNIN (Bottom Two, LW – 4): Am I the only one who thinks Esther looks kind of hot in this picture? I’m well aware that her expression’s blank and the pose is too girly, but there’s something really sexy about the level of androgyny. In my opinion, this was way better than Jane’s shot…
8. KENDAL as VERA WANG (Eliminated, LW – 3): We should have seen this coming. The judges gave Kendal so many chances, and she consistently failed to live up to her potential. This girl sealed her fate when she told Tyra that she needs more experience, leading to a ridiculous metaphor about baby colts running. Seriously, what was up with all that talk about colts?
Are the models in the designers supposed to look like mannequins? The challenges are getting worse and worse and I agree that this one is an embarrassment. As far as lesbians, Kayla is much less annoying than Kim from cycle five.
When you watch a shit show, you get shit.
I’m surprised no one commented on how gorgeous the photographer was…. he was hot and sweet….. lovely hair and eyes….. the best part of the episode….
No Lagerfeld. Won’t ever produce a high fashion model.
