My love for Avril Lavigne is pretty shameless. I’ve danced to “Girlfriend” in at least five different languages, all while wearing nothing but my underwear. My friends once convinced me to perform “Sk8er Boi” at a karaoke bar. And let’s not forget the endless sing-along sessions to “Anything But Ordinary” with my best friend. Sure, my love is tinged with a bit of hipper-than-thou irony, but it’s still pretty damn legitimate.
With that said? Lavigne’s latest single “What The Hell” makes me want to rip my ears off. The track was cowritten by Max Martin and Shellback, the folks responsible for such hits as Britney Spears‘ “3” and Pink‘s “Raise Your Glass”, and it’s easily the most bratty and grating thing ever created by Avril Lavigne.
Long story short? Expect this to be a huge hit on the radio.

oh…. so this is why she “died” over the weekend.
Wait what? You mean Avril Lavigne is still with us here on Earth??
Wow, you would think listening to this song that Avril was still 19. You’re pretty close to 30, sweetheart. Time to grow up!
Avril!! Don’t give up your Proactiv gig.
Oh Mickey you’re so fine, you blow my mind, Hey Mickey. Hey Mickey.
Yeah this is even annoying for me. It’ll be on the radio for the next 3 months…sigh
I heard it 10 times throughout the day yesterday… its not doing anything for me at all 🙁
Avril Lavigne = Alanis Morissette, she’s lip syncing for Alanis.
