To be quite blunt with you, Diana Vickers is a loser. This isn't intended to be an attack against her personality or musical ability. She literally lost the fifth season of of UK series The X-Factor., coming in fourth place behind fellow competitors Alexandra Burke, JLS and Eoghan Quigg.
Given the nature of these reality singing competitions, this shouldn't say much about the potential of her career. Take into consideration the number of American Idol losers who have made a name for themselves. Do the names Chris Daughtry and Jennifer Hudson mean anything to you?
Of course, this also doesn't mean that she will have a career. Even winning these competitions doesn't mean you'll become a household name. I mean, has anyone heard a Taylor Hicks or Ruben Studdard song on the radio recently?
Judging by Diana's lead single "Once", it could go either way for her. The song doesn't provide an immediate "OMG" reaction upon the first listen, but as soon as you get it stuck in your head, you'll want to listen to it more than… um, once. But what do you think? Does it deserve a spot on tomorrow's Weekly Top Ten?

YEAH! Yes, it does.
I’m so happy that you know hear about all this music from Europe. It’s to now that even though I’ve left Europe, there are people in Boston who listen to this too! Diana Vickers is amazing and her cover of “Call Me” is fantastic. I feel you and I would get along quite well, Dewitt. I’m in Boston too 🙂
OMG. That comment was completely incoherent. “I’m so h appy that you know/hear about all this music from Europe. It’s nice to know that even though I’ve left Europe…” There. Now that makes sense.
Thanks for giving “Once” a chance, Dewitt.
The song deserves to be in the top 10 at least for one week. Hey…Pixie, Leona and Alexandra they all got a chance as well as Cheryl Cole.
