Aural Only: Estelle

Estelle, Jamrock magazine, Freak, new single, music video

Though British singer Estelle had a smash hit with her song "American Boy", the lead single from her upcoming album All of Me finds her departing from that formula to channel an entirely different sound. "Freak" was made strictly for the clubs, and it's sure to have a presence in them thanks to guest star Kardinal Offishall and an awesome Soul II Soul sample.

It should also be noted that the music video is a total trip! Considering how long it's been since Missy Elliott's delivered some wacky visuals, it's comforting to know that Estelle will satisfy our cravings for weirdness. I'd like it even more if it didn't remind me of this

  1. Pathetic! The only thing of value in this cut is what they sampled from some other true creative force in music . There is neither talent nor creativity in this mess. This track is the epitome of the crap that is called “music” today. It is the celebration of stupidity and anti-intelligence. It is the ultimate un-music.
And now let me tell you how I really feel…

  2. not at all interested, actually. something about her just doesn’t connect. impressive attempt, though.

  3. I’m sure.
You know when you have 6 drinks in you, you’ll be shaking your as to this…
