If you haven’t heard Rihanna‘s new single “Only Girl (In The World)”, you must not be spending enough time on the internet. After making its debut this past Tuesday, the song has been making the rounds all over the place. The reviews have been mixed from critics and fans alike, but most seem to agree that it’ll be another international smash for the pop singer.
This is definitely a departure from her Rated R sessions, channeling the club-ready energy of her previous hit “Don’t Stop The Music”. In some regards, it’s almost too epic for Rihanna’s vocal style, though we don’t imagine that will stop it from filling dance floors worldwide. What do you think? Cool song, it’s the lead single from her next album “LOUD” due in November. Should be a good album, since she is done with her “dark phase”

Your right, her voice isn’t really big enough for this one, but I can se a couple of hot remixes coming from this, and being a dance hit!
I’m not too sure how I feel about it yet, maybe I need to listen it more. Her lower register in the chorus sounds like the MOST FAKE thing in music right now….the music industry is becoming a joke.
I am not liking this song at the moment, but I hope the remixes come out soon. It tends to happen to me with her music that it needs a few more times listening to it before I can embrace it. I had the same experience last year with “Russian Roulette”.
Crap. I loved Rated R. That’s her best album IMO.
This album will probably be generic. I hate when artists make good music, the generally, stupid, public doesn’t like it so they make some crap album to please the idiot masses who are most likely going to download the album illegally anyway.
She has a lot of work to do in my opinion after releasing such total garbage on Rated R.
I am ready to write her off and never expect anything good from her again.
Rated R was completely unlistenable. This new song has a big hole to climb out of, but it seems to be on the right track.
The audio in this video has the key lowered and the tempo slowed, to avoid copyright laws on Youtube.
Finally the Rihanna we all loved is back!!! Thank God, get over that mess of a exboyfriend and your dark phase and move on making good ass music!!

Wow, Rated R…garbage??!! I think not. There are quite a few other albums out there that are “garbage” but people love them. That cd was one of the best in this genre of music that I have heard. Now, had you given examples of other music that really compete with the style she laid out in that album, maybe we could think about it and say you might have a point, but you didn’t even try.
I love this record. Sort of reminds me of 80’s Eurythmics.
