Note to self: If ever given the opportunity to interview Barack Obama, don't post to Twitter about him calling certain celebrities "jackasses". This rule is especially valid when he's referring to MTV VMA incidents, particularly ones where Kanye West rushes the stage to say Taylor Swift doesn't deserve her Best Female Video award.
ABC News reporter Terry Moran learned this lesson the hard way when he posted an off-the-record item from the President. The company has issued an apology to the White House, and hopefully their apology was a little more sincere than Kanye's!

That should be a lesson to everyone- anytime you say something it might be on the internet somewhere.
It’s too bad it wasn’t ON the record… the man WAS a jackass and deserved to be called out as one.
This just made my day.
This should help Obama’s approval ratings!
Lets go ahead and add this to the list of unpresidential acts by Pres. Obama. I fail to see, however accurate a statement it may be, why this is any of the president’s business. Much like it was none of the president’s business to get involved with the racist professor and the cop who arrested him…
Kayne was asked to do the stunt and paid an additional $15,000 to do so, – to compensate for the fall out that would come from it.
MTV has a long history of this – didn’t Janet Jackson show her ‘pretty little titty’, God only knows what she earned for that con job.
It’s as much “the president’s business” as it is the business of anyone else who saw the very public incident. The whole point is that he was speaking OFF THE RECORD, not in his capacity as president. This wasn’t an “unpresidential act” on Obama’s part; it was an unprofessional act on the reporter’s part.
And every President has done this.. Including President Bush and Regan..so it’s not just Obama.
