It's no secret that we have a little bit of a crush on Current TV's Bryan Safi. If you had any doubts about this, please refer yourself to the hundred million–bajillion posts we've written about him. Not only is he adorable and hilarious, but he has a tendency to tackle issues that really matter.
In the latest installment of the "That's Gay" series, Safi finally tackles the whole Constance McMillen fiasco in Mississippi. In case you somehow missed this story, the lesbian student successfully sued her high school for the right to bring her girlfriend to prom. Yay for sticking it to the man!… But then she was directed to a "fake prom" while the rest of the students partied elsewhere. Not so yay!
Click through to find out what Safi had to say about this matter, in a video complete with references to Carrie and High School Musical 3. ::sigh:: If only I could go back in time and take Bryan as my date to prom!

i never had a crush durning my proms but if i did i would have wanted him there with me just like all my friends had there own date with them kinda sad times for o land of the free huh
I cant believe this. I am from a one horse town down in Georgia and I took a guy to my prom in ’06. Of course I had to get special approval from the principal making sure I was sure in my decision, he was cool about it and just wanted me to know that not everyone was open minded and that other kids might be mean, but I was like HELLO!? I’ve been picked on everyday for it I’m not gonna let it get in my way on any other day. And the night was great and no one said anything out of the way or rude. I can’t believe they would do that to a teenage girl, lesbian or not prom is magical at that age and to send her to a fake prom shows that not only the parents or other students are cold and judgmental, but so are the school administrators and faculty, and that to me means they shouldn’t be teaching anyway.
Go to my page, I just posted a new video about Bryan talking about his personal prom experience. it is quite funny.

On a personal note, my own prom was actually quite fun. I was able to take my boyfriend, but with all the people that went in my group, I doubt they really noticed. I know they knew, cause everyone in my school knew.
