Syd tha Kyd radiates a sort of sexiness that appeals to me, even though she has a vagina and prefers the company of other people with vaginas. For those who aren’t familiar, Syd’s a member of the Los Angeles hip-hop collective Odd Future, known primarily in the gay community for bringing us Frank Ocean and getting people pissed off with Tyler, The Creator‘s homophobic shock-rap tactics.
Yet, for whatever reason, the gay media doesn’t seem to care that an openly lesbian singer’s churning out sultry R&B tunes that could make men and women, regardless of their sexuality, drop their undies to the floor. As The Internet, Syd works with producer Matt Martians to craft highly underrated tunes like their latest release “Dontcha”.
