Gay parent and sex columnist Dan Savage has responded to Pat Robertson's ridiculous remarks that most gay men were probably abused as children by an authority figure, asking the question "Who's raping all these Christian kids?"
"Not openly gay people," he answers. "Fundamentalist Christian parents don't allow their children hang out with openly gay men and women…All these Christian kids are being raped by straight-identified, nominally-Christian coaches and counselors and youth pastors and dorm captains."
His theory is similar to an opinion expressed in a video from one of our commenters, but does such an outrageous point really need to be proven "wrong"?

It would appear that those who profess to be or whom we would consider to be “good Christians” can come up with some pretty wicked shit. I imagine Brother Pat hasn’t read this. It’s about Catholics after all, and they’re probably on the same boat to hell as the gays.

yes, it does need to be “proven” or shown as wrong. if no one bothers challenging these asswipe fundamentalist loonies on their FALSE claims about social issues and the origin of homosexual impulse, then what is there to counter their claims?
