Though we had to wait longer than planned for Happy Death Day writer/director Christopher Landon’s latest blend of horror and comedy, Freaky, there shouldn’t be quite such a delay for his next film, We Have A Ghost. With the cameras already rolling (see Landon’s tweet lower down the page), we know that David Harbour and Anthony Mackie are leading the cast.
This one promises to be a little more family friendly, and certainly less gory than his last slasher-fest, and according to the director himself, not a horror movie. We Have a Ghost adapts Geoff Managuh’s short story Ernest, about a young man named Kevin (Jahi Di’Allo Winston) whose family finds a ghost called Ernest (Harbour) haunting their new home. Discovering Ernest turns Kevin’s family into overnight social media sensations. But when Kevin and Ernest go rogue to investigate the mystery of Ernest’s past, they become a target of the CIA.

Tig Notaro and Jennifer Coolidge are also aboard this one, alongside Erica Ash, Isabella Russo, Niles Fitch, Faith Ford and Steve Coulter.
Netflix is backing the new movie, but there’s no word yet on a launch date. Still, given how great both Happy Death Day films and Freaky turned out, we’re excited for this one.
