Do You Have Any Tattoos?

This is my feeble attempt to learn more about you and get you talking in the comments section. Is it working yet? Just to be clear, I’m genuinely interested in hearing about your tattoos and what they mean to you! I’m just nervous that, given the anti-ink sentiment some Manhunt Daily readers occasionally project, you might be hesitant to open up and share with me. Oh well! Let’s take the risk and give this a try. Here are a few questions to consider:

• Do you have any tattoos? (Duh.)

• If so, how many do you have? Where are they located on your body? Do any of them have special meaning to you? Have you ever had any regrets about making such a permanent change to your appearance, considered getting a tattoo removed or had a tattoo removed or altered to change its meaning?

• If not, would you like to get a tattoo some day, or are you actively against the idea? If you would like to get one, what would it be and where would you put it on your body? If you’re against the idea, why? Is it a personal choice in regards to who you are as an individual, or do you find tattoos off-putting in general?

Those of you with tattoos are welcome to post pictures in the comments. I guess those of you without tattoos are also welcome to post pictures in the comments, though I’m not sure what purpose that would serve… Those of you who are tired of talking about tattoos on this blog can just watch Caleb Colton pound the hell out of mustachioed bottom boy Blake Bjorn. Fair warning! You won’t be able to avoid tattoo-talk altogether, because Caleb spends some time explaining a few of his own.

  1. Nope no tats but by the time I did want to get one it was too late and now non are willing to do it. Problem with being on blood thinners and anti coagulants bleed way too much during the process.

My husband has 2 tats, while the one on his upper back shoulder is average and okay I like the one on his calf area much better and find it a turn on in a way.

Some guys I have to admit I find have too many and over shadows their looks rather than enhancing them. I know it is a big thing now a days self expression and what not but what is enough or too much? No difference between body piercings and body hair we all have our likes and dislikes turn on’s and turn off’s.

  2. I don’t have any and don’t care to get any. Not fully against guys who have them, but I do feel when they go overboard and are all over the place it can be off putting. If the guy is hot though I can generally look past them. That doesn’t make me shallow though. lol! Because I would not juts not talk to someone who has them. I would get to know someone as a person first. I know a few people who have them that are good friends of mine. I like them as the person. It’s just if a guy was covered in them, I wouldn’t actively approach him if he wasn’t overly hot enough for me to look past them based on looks. If the guy approached me though I wouldn’t turn him down based on them.

If they have a special meaning then I would totally be fine with them. However if you have a two foot flaming skull on your back, don’t try and tell me you did it in memory your mother. There is one type of Tattoo however that is VERY off putting for me. That is the ones that have flames coming up from the crotch. I’m sorry, but when I look at that area I do not want it to be associated with burning. That usually tends to be a bad sign. lol!

As for me. I don’t see the point in them. Some people say that they do it to show their conviction or feelings on something and that by putting it on their skin it show how deep their conviction is. My argument and feeling personally is that it shows your conviction is literally only skin deep. I don’t need to plaster what I like and who I am all over my body. If someone wants to know that stuff, then come and talk to me. Find out for yourself. I love Christina Aguilera & Pink, but I don’t need to ink the lyrics to Beautiful & Fucking Perfect on my back or stomach. I like wrestling and love CM Punk, Evan Bourne, & Dolph Ziggler, but I don’t need to plaster their faces on my arms to prove that. Same with my love for special people in my life or favorite movies, video games, TV shows, books, actors actresses, etc. I know I like these things. They are stuff that makes up who I am, and if someone wants to take the time to get to know me, then they can find that stuff out. But I don’t need a badge inked into my skin to prove that I love these things. Do I really need to put my Sisters name on my shoulder to prove that I love her? No. If someone else feels the need to then fine. I’m not going to hate you for it. I just personally find it a bit silly at times. Not to mention most people get them and then ten or twenty years down the road regret it, because they got a divorce from or broke up with that person that was so special that they had to ink their name into their skin or they grew out of loving that TV or cartoon character.

  3. i have tats and they are all fucking awesome!! Get a lot of attention at the clubs and at different events..Nothing bad about tats..But like ass pics, they have to be in good taste.

  4. I don’t have any tats, personally I change my mind to frequently and know I might not like it later. I have had henna in the past and liked having those for a while. Missed some of them when they faded, but moved on. All in all I have nothing against tattoos as long as they are in good taste, in the proper place, and not over done.

  5. I have three and want a couple more. Star on the inside of my right forearm, equality bands on my left wrist, and a version of a phoenix on my left deltoid. I want two sparrows on my chest.

  6. I have 3 so far. The first and smallest are my initials (the way I sign my artwork) on my upper left arm. The second and biggest is a family crest I designed (big on my Polish heritage) that is on the outside right calf. The third is the Starship Enterprise logo (commonly called the staefleet delta) on my left pec. Yes, it’s a “pop-culture” reference, but the original show for as campy and cheesy as it was really had some excellent ideas and philosophy.

  7. I have two tats both have personal meaning, neither one are publicly visible and I have no regrets about having them.

  8. I have 16 tats. The one that means the most is the portrait of Alice, my Calico who got sick and passed quickly, on my left calf. She was my baby, a very good cat.

  9. I have a large tribal type down my left side chest and side from my shoulder to just below my waist. I like it and haven’t ever regretted getting it. I feel it accents my body type (slim, athletic) and definitely gets some attention any time I’m shirtless. My partner doesn’t have any and I like him that way. He’s just too perfect to mess it up by doing something to draw attention away from his perfection! 🙂

  10. WOW Patrick my cat Muffin angora suddenly got sick and passed away this past saturday ( 5/25 ) and like your Alice she was my baby and I miss her terribly !!!.. I doubt if I will get a tat but I just thought I would share that

  11. I do not have any tats although I have often consider getting one however my limit would strictly be just that ONE. For those who like a lot of ink for which I might call it a sloppy mess others might call it art so to EACH IS OWN !!!

  12. I do not have any tattoos. I find guys with and without tattoos hot. I would consider getting a tattoo if I could ever decide on something I would like on my body forever. No, seriously, that is how I think about this topic. I would get a tattoo if I could decide on the ink, but, I can’t … at least not yet.

  13. I am sorry to hear about your babies dying. 🙁 I lost my dog Star (Great Dane mix) on 12/2/12 after 13 wonderful years with her. She was my baby and it does still hurt. Not getting a tattoo of her, but I do carry pictures of her in my phone & look at them often, when I miss her most. My condolences to you both.

  14. i have 5 tatts n plans for more…….tribal left shoulder, arm n back as well as dragon right arm, writting down left side, smaller tribal right side of stomach/groin n thigh, wings on my back….i love tattoos but even i can say some fellas go bit overboard with em i find tribal n big colourful tatts amazing but the skulls n blood n burning eye ones etc are just nasty lol

  15. Do not have any, but I like them and do eventually plan to get at least one (maybe others if it gels with me.)

  16. For some people it’s more for themselves. Mie are for my remembrances only and are generally clear of view. As an artform it’s thousands of years old, so for me, tattoos aren’t just a passing fad or something I’ll regret later.

  17. I’ve got one tattoo, and I plan on getting at least two more~ It’s on my chest, the next one I have planned is the triquetra on my hip, and the next will be an ouroboros on maybe my shoulder.

  18. no, hate tattoos, distracting, bad taste, a beautiful body does not need any more ornamentation

  19. I am a unique one of kind man just the way I am with no tattoos. I am very proud to be a completely clean canvas. So many people are getting tattoos these days that it is the most conformist thing someone can do. Everybody is doing it and it lacks originality. The stories of what their tattoos mean all start to sound the same. It sounds like they are getting a tattoo just because everybody else is and they don’t have a mind of their own.

  20. I don’t have any and mostly because I know I’d get one and then regret that it was the wrong one or I put it in the wrong place or it didn’t look that way I wanted and on and on. I’ve often thought if I got one, it would be a dolphin maybe jumping over my ankle and across the front of my foot. Many people have really beautiful ones but it’s the ones that just look random and unrelated or just begin to hide the person behind them that is a buzz kill for me. All things in moderation…even moderation.

  21. Remember in Anchorman when Will Ferrell yells, “Great Odin’s ravens!” Well we didn’t get them because of that movie, but my brother and I are mostly Swedish, so we each got one of Odin’s ravens on our shoulder blades. His is Munnin, which means “Memory” because he’s the loyal one. Mine is Huginn, which means “Thought” because I’m the more empathic one.

  22. I don’t have one, but i want to get one, a sea goat design since I am a Capricorn, and would get it with the tail on my left arm, wrapping around with the head being on my left pec. originally though about getting the whole thing on left pec, but decided to expand the idea in order to make a more prominate statement with it

  23. Yeah, I get that. But like I said. I would never get any for myself. I’ll keep my art on my wall. But not going to hate someone for getting it themselves. If they want it then fine. I also can appreciate someone who actually puts some thought into one and not just get it on a dare or drunken whim.

  24. Most tattoos themselves are unique, as well. It’s an artform that goes back thousands of years when it was mostly pure ceremonial. I don’t wish to be confrontational, but writing that “everyone is doing it” and “the stories of what their tattoos mean all start to sound the same” comes off as arrogant and dismissive. Just because I have one that has special meaning, and another person has one with special meaning does not diminish either sentiment. Each one (if done with forethought) is individual regardless of how many people get them. There were some cultures where they were required. Some where getting one was a risk of death (not from unsanitary conditions) because of harsh fascists. Those people did it in defiance of the cruel, ruthless dictators and certainly not to fit in.

  25. I have 7. 5 Small stars behind my ear going towards the back of my neck, a white koi on my left shoulder blade( getting a black koi on my right hip so together they represent ying-yang), two lizards on the back of my calf( getting more, one for each color of the rainbow flag) a lotus flower on my wrist, my initials on my chest, and lyrics that I felt described me on the inner part of my arms.

  26. No tattoos yet, but I wanna get one to commemorate my cousin passing away. He was only 23 when he had his accident and my best friend.
