To make her class feel insecure about their artistic ability and body image, one of our crazy art professors would assign students life-size nude portraits. As a general rule, this would lead to sleepless nights and an awkward unveiling, in which nearly every male artist depicted himself with a larger penis.
Why do I bring this up? Because witnessing this struggle makes me appreciate Zachari Logan‘s work even more. He creates drawings and paintings–often self-portraits–in a scale that’s mostly life-size or larger. I can only imagine (for now) what it’d be like to walk into a gallery and see these pieces in person. It’d be kind of magnificent, right? Right? Right.

Cats, tools, and sensible shoes… Lesbian artist?
It’s nice to see someone who can tell a story with art without it turning into some giant mess.
