He told the Detroit Metro Times, "There are other artists that have used the word 'faggot' in their work… So why, then, when I say it is it any different?…Let's say if I say something fucked up about Christopher Reeve, you know what I mean? Just something totally off-the-cuff. That's really fucked up, but how is it any different than what South Park is doing? Or Family Guy?…Why am I that person who's always looked at and where the microscope comes out?"
How does he just bring up that word and then get so dismissive about it? Just because people have done it before him, it doesn't make it right!

too right.
He wouldn’t use the bloody N word!
There’s a reason why I never bought his stuff, gays need to realize when paying these kind of tossers becomes a self-hate issue.
He has a valid point just even though it may not be right. He’s being singled out to something that’s a broader problem. It’s also just part of his character he says things all the time that might upset someone but it’s his prerogative.
See now I take umbridge with anyone saying it. This is why I don’t watch family guy or south park anymore (and south park’s creators have come out of the closet saying they’re libertarians which is a nice way of saying “we’re republicans who didn’t like bush”)
What a douchebag. The difference is that Family Guy and South Park are doing things with comedy and humor and irony. Eminem is most certainly not.
First, let’s just stop all the hateful slurs. But really how is this any different than say the “N” word? I mean really it’s ok for black / african people to use that word towards each other but the instant a “white” person does it it’s wrong and they should be put behind bars for a hate crime.
Society today has gotten to sensitive about words and phrases. Next thing you know the US courts will be overrun with lawsuits because a skinny person called an overweight person “fat” instead of “healthy weight challenged”.
Just like it is okay for gay people to say faggot or dyke to each other, but when a straight person says it, suddenly it is wrong.

Political incorrectness and the shock value of his work is Eminem’s niche. Years ago, we would have been appalled with such language; but the market is saturated with expletives, and mixed messages of free speech and hate speech. We’ve become so desensitized to the point where we no longer cringe at cuss words, or where harming another fellow human being is not only encouraged, but in many instances, considered acceptable.
Welcome to the world of free thought and the progressive movement? Why bother with culpability?
Anyone who lets a word offend them is a moron!
Now Matt if you have actually listened to some of Eminem’s lyrics you would understand that he is actually a very comedic rapper even check out his most recent song/video “We Made You” where he picks on an array of celebrities. Does this make him right? Not at all but like I’ve said right now he has that right until it’s changed. Times are continuously changing and the word faggot may eventually be put into the same category as the “N” word but as of right now it’s not considered a big problem to the bulk of society. Right now there’s a plethora of issues on the gay communities agenda and marriage is at the forefront so I believe that once it’s settled the more minor issues will be covered in the future.
