Even in this day and age, fraternities have a tendency to be associated with date rape, homophobic behavior and excessive partying. This is pretty fucking ridiculous. Life isn’t a scene from Fraternity X, and there are plenty of Greek organizations that enrich their college campuses beyond your average, misogynist “Golf Pros and Tennis Hoes” events.
The members of Emerson‘s Phi Alpha Tau chapter raised over $6000 (and counting) for their trans brother Donnie to afford FTM top surgery. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the concept of “top surgery”, it essentially involves the removal of the breasts and shaping of the chest for a male figure. It’s an incredibly expensive procedure, and unfortunately, most insurance providers won’t cover it.
This story touched me so much that I had to put the damn porn aside for a second and share it with all of you. While I’m not going to try to guilt you into donating or anything, it’s important to take a moment every now and then to acknowledge that everything isn’t awful in this world. There are some good people out there. You just have to look in the right places.

Nice story! I’m not part of a frat, but it makes me glad when they do something worthwhile.
And that dude’s cute. 😉
