Scottish indie fivesome Frightened Rabbit released their fifth full-length album Pedestrian Verse last month, and so far, it’s taken a place as one of my favorite releases of the year (right next to Tegan & Sara‘s Heartthrob, Ra Ra Riot‘s Beta Love and Woodpigeon‘s Thumbtacks and Glue).
But don’t take my word for it! Check out the excellent music video for “Backyard Skulls” (complete with breakdancing), along with a pair of acoustic performances from BBC Radio. If you dig the band’s sound (or even if you’re already familiar), you can download a free EP of three songs here. I’d recommend starting with the album on Spotify, if you’ve got it. “Holy” and “Late March, Death March” are my personal faves.
