Gay Marriage Legal In Mexico City And Buenos Aires

Gay Marriage

Some more good news for Gay Marriage following the new law in Washington D.C. Mexico City and Buenos Aires have both allowed gay marriage and the first ceremony in both cities took place this week!

I think it's great that equal rights are being given to people all across the world, and I hope more of Latin America follows. In both places the same backlash occured from religious organizations, but the laws seem to be there to stay, so let's just be happy about that.

  1. From the 31 couples who went yesterday on Mexico City, only 19 filled with all requirements. The first wedding on Mexico is programmed for March 11. I still haven’t found out who are the guys (or gals) to be the first couple. Is buenos Aires is not that they made a legislation, actually the couple could marry after a trial against the guberment. But yeah, I mean obviously this opens the door to future marriages there. Can someone tell me if Washington law is marriage or just civil union? Thnx =)

“most” countries allow same sex legal equity? are you living on the same planet as i am? fewer than 10 countries currently allow same sex marriage – certainly a critical component of “legal equity.” of the 200 odd countries in the world, i don’t think that qualifies as “most.” please get your facts “straight.”
