Help Me Escape The Human Race

If you’re a fan of Robyn‘s “crying on the dance floor” brand of electro-pop, then there’s a very good chance you’ll enjoy Margaret Berger‘s new single “Human Race”. The 2004 Norwegian Idol runner-up, straight ally and fourth place finisher at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest has followed up her biggest hit yet “I Feed You My Love” with a track that’s lighter and more accessible in the musical department, yet far more hopeless in its lyrical content.

We’ve all had days where we wish we could hop into a rocket, fly out into outer space and escape everything that’s awful about this world, and this song touches upon that perfectly normal, healthy urge to indulge in a bit of escapism. While it’s much easier to relate to than, say, “Work Bitch“, it likely won’t reach as many ears… And that’s okay! I’m perfectly okay dancing alone to this in my underwear, as I tend to do when I’m alone and secretly hating everyone.
