Houston, We Have a Bottom

The Sword, Bottom, Tops

Are you a bottom in search of a top, but can't seem to find one in your city? Or vice versa? Well, gay blog The Sword surveyed online ads on Craigslist for ten cities and came up with statistics for the number of tops and bottoms in each city.

If you're a hungry power bottom in Houston, Texas searching for an aggressive top, then your chances of getting laid are slim considering that over 70% are also looking to get rammed. This shouldn't be surprising since power bottom Mason Wyler is from that area.

Which city had the most tops you ask? New York City. Over 50% of it's users were self proclaimed tops looking for bottoms. I suggest all you penis hungry bottoms in Houston take a vacation trip to New York City.

I'm not sure how accurate these statistics are, but maybe I should compile my own data based on how many tops and bottoms are on MANHUNT

  1. That’s not accurate. I live in Houston and I’m a top. The only bottoms I’ve been with lately were from out of town. Where are they???

  2. all the bottoms out in Ptown claim that there are too few tops around to satisfy them- has no one heard of versatility?

  3. um that data is wrong. no way there are more tops than bottoms in nyc. either it’s old data or people were not being honest during the survey. lol

  4. well it only surveys craigslist which is a very small proportion of the population

  5. and what happened to the Philadelphia data?
I agree with the above poster. NYC does NOT have more tops than bottoms.
“has no one heard of versatility?” Do u like to be tied up? spanked? bondage? My point is Choice! Some guys are total tops, others total bottoms. Again, it is YOUR choice..

  6. Jeezum crow, ya picky queens – it’s an informal survey based on pre-existing information – lighten up!
Dear Tops – Please remember that Maine is VACATIONLAND!

  7. Omfg this study has ssoooooo many holes in it.Nevermind the many of guys who cannot admit to being versatile, claiming top to seem more masculine(as if being a bottom is fem)yet consistently hit me(the real top)up for bottoming. There are sooo many fake tops out there it is ridiculous.I do not think you can accurately determine how many tops there are out there.I always thought the ole versatile role was most common, especially among masculine men.

  8. I live in NYC and bottoms always bitch about the lack of tops claiming for every 10 tops, there are 100,000 bottoms lol.I think the reason i am so promiscious is because so much ass is available for me lol.

  9. Mathematically you can ignore the versatile group as an intersection between tops and bottom. Iam waiting for official manhunt results.

  10. Under normal circumstances, I would classify myself as bottom/versatile. Due to certain health issues thanks to being HIV+, I now have to classify myself as top/versatile. I cannot vouchsafe being bottom anymore. It hasn’t turned out too bad, though. Hubby has finally discovered the joys of bottoming.
Sero-discordant after 17 years, and loving it!

  11. GO NYC! i always knew all the power brokers in the city were power tops too lol!

  12. uhm… these “statistics” are about as accurate as those you’d find surfing Mancunt. It never ceases to amaze me HOW many guys claim to be ‘tops’ but are in fact screaming bottoms! Let’s also try to remember this fundamental truth: ‘versatile’ does NOT mean how many positions you can get fucked in! LOL

  13. Yes, Please do an analysis of Manhunt profiles by city – that would be VERY interesting! And I think it will be much more accurate than some Craigslist review.
I agree with David comment that “ask me” means Power Bottom. But, to be fair either split them equally between top & bottom (or just do not include the date) I hope that you really do the analysis Andy.
Lastly, I think that a good % of tops are actually vers or bottoms in hiding. But even with that statistical error I think the analysis will be very INTERESTING. I hope you do this!

  14. this is extremely biased. it assumes that every gay man needs to post an online profile for sex, and that they tell the truth.
way to try to be scientific.
