I have to come out of the closet (but not the one you're thinking of). Lady Gaga often gets on my nerves. Yes, she's great at making hits and a friend of the gay community. Occasionally I enjoy one of her songs, and I have a good amount of respect for her. That doesn't mean that she doesn't piss me off constantly.
I mean, have you seen that German TV interview with her wearing Jean-Charles de Castelbajac's dead Kermit garment? Some people are saying that she really pulled it off, and they clearly don't have eyes. It was cute when she wore one Muppet, but this is taking it too far.
If Gaga wants to be respected as an "artist" she needs to stop doing weird shit just for the sake of doing weird shit. You're not Bjork, honey! This is just coming off as trying too hard. Is anyone else with me or am I fighting a losing battle?

Here’s MY thoughts… It an undeniably ridiculous outfit, but to that extent, Lady Gaga is an undeniably ridiculous personality. So I feel like it’s still all very coherent. And if you can wear something like that and are still able to conduct a standard interview… then I would say that she pulled it off.
i like gaga’s music. she’s very interesting, her music is fun, but i feel as if people are giving her a bit too much credit.
if we’re still talking about her 6/7 years from now then maybe she can be considered a star who is worthy of all this press…
and generally i like her costumes, but that kermit outfit is a mess… but it’s just an outfit and she can try better next time..

I actually went to school with Stefani, yes, the real Stefani, and I’m still close with her sister Natali. Honestly, this Kermit outfit does not surprise me at all. Stefani has been crazy since elementary school. People think it’s an act but I swear to you, she’s ALWAYS been that weird! She’s so lovable and creative so it’s easy to look past her quirkiness. It may look as if she’s looking for attention but seriously, this is a girl who in 5th grade glued her underwear and socks to her lunchbox because it needed to be “dressed up”. Have no fear, she’ll be around for a long time, trannilicious and all. NYC <3
She does this stuff for publicity and it works. Every blog posts a picture of her wearing a crazy outfit at least one a week. Otherwise no one would be talking about her. Hopefully that 15min will be up soon.
She’s trying to do what Christina did in 2002, shock people… in a not so positive way. Then Christina grew up, wrote better, mature songs, with better producers.
I think Gaga has a great deal of talent. She also understands the appeal and value of shock.
Though her style is often misunderstood, she is a music artist!!! If you can’t OVERLY express yourself in that realm, then I don’t know what else is left.

well i mean, if that outfit would have been in the lines of her earlier looks, e.g. a bit dark, fetish hinting, rock glam stuff, i would have approved, but now it is just bad branding. but she is awesome for trying
