Have you heard of this girl named Lady Gaga? Because apparently she's a big deal or something. The pants-free wonder has become the third act to achieve three number one Mainstream Top 40 airplay singles from their debut album, joining such elite musical visionaries as Ace of Base and Avril Lavigne.
As "LoveGame" slips out of the number one spot on the MANHUNT Daily 2009 Song of Summer charts, Gaga parades with her disco stick to the top of the Billboard airplay charts. It follows the success of her first two singles off of The Fame, "Just Dance" and "Poker Face".
While I do applaud the sweat, tears and cute outfits that went into accomplishing this feat, I find the shared company to be extremely laughable. I mean, is "Poker Face" on the same level musically as "Sk8er Boi"? I would answer that question, but I don't think it could be any more obvious. See ya later, bois.

knock knock. excuse me, but avril lavigne never had 3 number ones from her debut album. in fact, the only number one song on the billboard hot 100 avril ever had is ‘girlfriend’. she never had 3 consecutive number ones on any chart. same goes to ace of base who only had 1 number 1 single on the hot 100 overall – ‘the sign’.

besides, it’s tuesday. who told u that gaga is gonna top thursday’s chart? they release this info on wednesdays.
regardless of that, this fact doesn’t diminish avril in any way. gaga is nothing comparing to avril. 3 number ones on hot 100 is impressive, but it shouldn’t be the determining factor deciding someone’s music quality etc.

well, but the mainstream top 40 chart isn’t really relevant. billboard is messed up anyway. only on billboard 3 albums outselling the official billboard 200 no.1 wouldn’t appear on the chart at all. ye, i’m talking about 3 michael jackson’s albums outselling the black eyed peas album, but still not appearing on billboard 200. yep, there are certain rules, but hey they are ridiculous. one can say there is top comprehensive album chart, but have u seen it the week before michael’s death? it was identical to billboard 200. ridiculous.

poker face has almost identical “ma ma ma ma” line on numerous occasions in the song. her poorest single for this reason in my opinion 🙂
