Lil Nas X styled out a wardrobe malfunction like a pro on Saturday Night Live this weekend.
The star performed his hit single ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’ on SNL in a pair of leather trousers, which split at the groin after he worked a pole. The look of shock on the openly gay 22-year-old’s face was a picture – but he soldiered on with the performance anyway, without missing a beat.
Elsewhere, the hell-inspired show saw Lil Nas licked by a backing dancer and sitting on a throne made of men. As ones does. Later, the ‘Holiday’ singer shared an Instagram video of himself reacting to the pant-splitting incident – and once again it as all about the adorable facial expressions.
“My pants really ripped on live television last night,” he added.
On Twitter he continued: “I wanted to do my pole routine so bad this [is] what I get lmaoo.”
Adding more background to the now-legendary performance, he said: “At first i was afraid to even perform. then we rehearsed for 2 weeks, then all of the dancers got removed because one had covid and new ones had to learn the routine in 24 hours, and then i ended up ripping my pants and couldn’t finish. everything happens for a reason tho lol.”
As per the arresting ‘Call Me By Your Name’ music video – which famously featured Lil Nas giving Satan a lapdance – the SNL performance was not without criticism.
And, as per, the star was dishing out withering replies. Responding to one critic calling him a “devil-worshipper”, Lil Nas said: “Who cares, i look hot.”
‘(Montero) Call Me By Your Name’ is taken from the star’s upcoming album, along with follow up single ‘Sun Goes Down’.
