The number one question I'm compelled to ask most porn stars is "Does your mother know what you're doing?" Is it a little insensitive? Maybe. Even so, I can't help but wonder how anyone would tell their parents that they make a living off of having sex on film. It takes coming out to a whole other level!
Yesterday, Wolf Hudson posted a video on his blog, The King of Kink, to discuss the process of admitting to his mother that he's doing porn. The self-proclaimed sexualist lamented, "It could go either way. She could disapprove and disown me or she could, you know, support me and still not like what I'm doing." Fans of Hudson, who took a poll on his site, have unanimously agreed that his mother will be supportive no matter what.
Wolf said "No thank you to Tyra Banks" when asked to appear on her "gay-for-pay" talk-show episode, claiming that he was worried the show would make the guys look bad. But do you think he may have been worried that his mother (or other family members) could have seen it? It's not as difficult to keep one's porn life under wraps, you know? One assumes that most mothers aren't watching dirty flicks, but they could certainly be watching Tyra!
All that aside, I wish Hudson the best of luck in telling his mother. And hopefully one of his 3 GayVN Award nominations will turn into a win that'll make mama proud.
