Life is hard! As much as I wish I could reach through each of your screens and personally give you a shoulder rub, the best I can do is heal your woes with the power of pop music and naked dudes. The week has brought us excellent new offerings from Frank Ocean, Little Boots, AlunaGeorge and must-watch singer Laura Welsh, and I’ve been struggling with my pick for today, the one that’ll bring you right into the weekend…
Do I go with David Bowie‘s awesome short film for “The Stars (Are Out Tonight)“, featuring Andrej Pejic, Saskia De Brauw and undeniably flawless human being Tilda Swinton? The gospel-tinged return of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs? The sure-to-flop (yet delightful) fourth single by Carly Rae Jepsen, “Tonight I’m Getting Over You“? The fantastical new clip for “Lillies“, one of my favorite tracks from Bats For Lashes‘ latest album?
Nope! I’m gonna go with the one that has a practically naked dude in it.
Brooklyn duo and real-life couple Matt & Kim released the video for “It’s Alright” earlier this week, and it showcases some of the best on-the-bed choreography since Shakira‘s supremely underrated “Did It Again“. I gravitate back and forth between admiring their perpetually upbeat energy and finding them highly annoying… But, hey, Matt Johnson in his underwear! I’d hit it.

surely you are kidding
Grammar police alert…alright is not a word.
Tell Matt & Kim! That’s the title of the song, like it or not.
Not yet, but we’re working on it.
interesting :Interesting: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Alright?s=t Love it when people make me look things up. It teaches me things I sometimes take for granted is correct but find out isn’t quite as I thought it was. 🙂
from Merriam Webster: “The one-word spelling alright appeared some 75 years after all right itself had reappeared from a 400-year-long absence. Since the early 20th century some critics have insisted alright is wrong, but it has its defenders and its users. It is less frequent than all right but remains in common use especially in journalistic and business publications. It is quite common in fictional dialogue, and is used occasionally in other writing” …in other words its all right to use alright…alright?
Clever choreography. And Matt is very cute.
awesome video and song
